Healthy Schools

Healthy Schools is a Government long-term initiative that promotes the link between good health, behaviour and achievement.

More than 99% of schools nationally are now involved in the programme and over 76% of schools have achieved National Healthy School Status. This translates to around 4 million children and young people currently enjoying the benefits of attending a Healthy School.<

The initiative has four core themes that include PSHE education, healthy eating, physical activity and emotional wellbeing.

The Core message is that It's about creating happier, healthier children who do better in learning and in life!

Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education, including SRE and drugs education

Personal, Social and Health Education including Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) and Drug Education (including alcohol, tobacco and volatile substance abuse)

Healthy Eating

Physical Activity

Emotional Health and Wellbeing, including bullying

How we can help

Farming For All provides external services and activities that support a number of the "Healthy School Themes" and works with schools to enable them to support children especially in the areas of "Physical Activity", Healthy Eating" and " Emotional Health and Wellbeing" for fully able children and for those with special educational needs.

To see in more detail the activities available and how we can work with a school to help deliver extended services that enable children to fulfil their potential in an inclusive and supportive way have a look at our dedicated Healthy Schools Support Area.
